  • Best Time to Go: The best time to visit is during the dry season (June to October) for optimal game viewing. However, the Serengeti offers incredible experiences year-round, especially if you’re interested in the Great Migration (typically from July to October).

5 Days Tanzania Standard Safari Itinerary

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport transfer to African Tulip, Arusha for dinner and overnight

The first day of your safari will begin by 8AM in the morning with a pick up from your hotel at Arusha.Once everyone is aboard, you will head towards Lake Manyara National Park. The 150 Km drive will be covered in about 3hrs.

The game drive will go on till mid-afternoon with a small break for a picnic lunch. During the game drive watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons and the blue monkeys. Another spectacle of the Lake Manyara National Park is the tree climbing lions, however spotting them is a game of luck. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turning pink with millions of flamingos flocking there. Keep your cameras at hand, for this is a simply beautiful scene. By mid-noon, we will drive to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early start you will make your way to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. On your game drive you have the possibility of seeing all different kinds of mammals ranging from the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – to Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. You might also see spotted hyenas and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After a picnic lunch in the crater and some more game viewing, you will leave the crater in the afternoon and drive to Serengeti National Park where you will overnight at Mgunga Serengeti Camp

After Breakfast we will do full game drive at Serengeti National Park, Serengeti National Park is the scene of the Great Wildebeest Migration after breakfast you will follow the migration of herds & spend much time with them in anticipation of experiencing animal actions like eating, fighting even killing. Packed lunch can be served at the picnic site or somewhere in the bush. This is a full day game drive in Serengeti where you will return back to Mgunga Serengeti Camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will leave Serengeti with your picnic lunch and drive to Karatu. Game on route via Ngorongoro conservation Area. 
Dinner on your own and Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge

The final day of your safari will kick off by 8 AM after breakfast at the lodge. Once everyone is aboard, you will head towards Tarangire National Park. The national park is extremely famous and special for its diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny.
The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 Sq Kms park gets its name from the Tarangire river that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes and zebra.

If it’s your lucky day, you might be able to spot the tree climbing python and the long necked Gerek. The Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants, which offers a unique chance for you to observe interactions between elephant families. Don’t forget to capture this beautiful scenery with your camera ready at hand. In the Afternoon we will drive back to Arusha. Dinner and Overnight at Gold Crest / Green Mountain Hotel.
