7 Days Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari

Day 0: Welcome to Tanzania

When you arrive, you will meet our driver with a sign bearing your name; He will pick you and drive to Hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight. Our Safari Guide will meet you at the hotel for a safari briefing.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel to start your safari to the Tarangire National Park. The Park is roughly the size of Luxemburg and covers an area of about 2,600 km². Bush savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. Not only they are found in thousands but also, they seem to be more accustomed to the vehicles, and for this you can be closer to these gigantic animals.  It is not only the elephants rather a varied numbers of animals such as to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons and more than 500 types of birds make this the one stop solution for both the bird and the animal lovers. After an extensive game drive, you will leave the park in the late afternoon and drive to Oldeani Mountain Lodge (https://www.wellworthcollection.co.tz/Ngorongoro-Oldeani-Mountain-Lodge) where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Game drive to Central Serengeti National Park

After an early start you will make your way to Serengeti national park via the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. Game on route with your pic nick lunch. In the Evening you will arrive in Serengeti for Dinner and Overnight at Mgunga Serengeti Camp (https://mgungaportfolio.com )

Day 3: Game drive to Northern Serengeti (Mara River)

After breakfast we head towards the far northern reaches of the Serengeti National Park. We will do a game drive en-route from central Serengeti area to the Kogatende area (Serengeti Migration Area). The wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Kogatende area from August to October, depending on rainfall patterns. A long stretch of the Mara River runs through the northern Serengeti National Park and the Mara River provides the migration with its most difficult obstacle. Day 4: Full day game drive in Northern Serengeti (Mara River) followed by Night game drive at Ikoma area

Early morning breakfast and then depart for game drives in Kogatende /Mara River area with your expert guide. Many visitors only want to see the river crossings, but the true spectacle of the migration is more than 1,245,000 wildebeests, 200,000 Burch ell’s zebras, 18,000 elands and 500,000 Thomson’s Gazelles filling the entire stretch of landscape. The shifting columns of the herds as they traverse the valleys and the hills can only be watched in awe. In the evening we will drive back to the lodge. Day 5: Northern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Day 6: Game drive to Ngorongoro Crater, overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

After an early breakfast, you will descend to Ngorongoro crater for Game drive. On your game drive you have the possibility of seeing all different kinds of mammals ranging from the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – to Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. You might also see spotted hyenas and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. Day 7: Game drive to Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

After breakfast we head towards Lake Manyara National Park. For full game drive. This national Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but Shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s Western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s unique tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.
